Customer portal development

We build self-service portals where customers, clients, partners and suppliers log in to see their orders, documents, bookings and invoices, and stop phoning your office to ask. Connected to the CRM, accounts and operations systems you already use. A first version starts from £1,999.

Portals for every side of your business

A portal gives an outside group a controlled window into your systems. These are the ones we are asked for.

  • Customer self-service portals

Orders, tracking, invoices, payments and support tickets, in one login. Laksiri’s customers track shipments through ours.

  • Client portals for professional services

Secure document exchange, signatures, project status and invoices for accountants, solicitors and consultancies.

  • Partner and dealer portals

Price lists, stock, orders, marketing material and commission statements for resellers.

  • Supplier and contractor portals

Purchase orders, job sheets, compliance documents and invoice submission.

  • Member and learning portals

Bookings, course content, progress and renewals. Prep2Pass students manage their lessons through one.

  • Employee portals

Rotas, holiday requests, policies and payslips, in one place your staff can reach from a phone.

What a portal connects to, and how it stays secure

A portal is only useful if the data in it is current, and only safe if each person sees exactly what they should.

CRM
HubSpot, Salesforce or Dynamics, so contact and account details stay in one place.
Accounts and payments
Xero, QuickBooks or Sage for invoices, and Stripe or GoCardless to pay them in the portal.
Documents
SharePoint, Google Drive or S3 storage, with access checked on every download.
Operations and ERP
Bookings, stock, jobs and shipments read from the system your team already works in.
Single sign-on and two-factor
Microsoft or Google sign-in for business users, and two-factor authentication where the data warrants it.
Roles, encryption and audit trails
Access decided per role and per account, data encrypted at rest, and every change recorded. Hosted in the UK or EU.

“Before working with Boolet, our internal processes were slow and fragmented. Their custom software streamlined everything into one platform, saving us hours each week. Boolet exceeded our expectations, the team was highly professional throughout the project.”

What a customer portal costs

Most portals start as an MVP with one job done well, then grow. These are starting points.

MVP buildOne core workflow, accounts and an admin dashboard. Usually 4 to 5 weeks.
From £1,999
Product buildUnlimited user roles, an API and up to three integrations. 10 to 12 weeks.
From £4,999
Enterprise buildMulti-tenant accounts, with an architecture and security review. Quoted after a call.
From £9,599
Growth supportSix hours a month for fixes and small features, with a reply the next working day.
£249/mo

After the first call you get a written proposal with your price and timeline. The price moves up or down with the size and complexity of the requirements. One-off tasks can also be quoted in hours, at £49 an hour, without a monthly plan.

Steps to a live portal

We launch to a small group first, then everyone.

  1. A free call

    30 minutes

Who logs in, what they need to see, and which systems hold that data today.

  2. Written proposal

    No charge

Roles, screens, integrations, the price and the timeline, agreed before the build starts.

  3. Build

    4 to 12 weeks

Weekly releases you can click through. Access rules and integrations are built first, screens on top.

  4. Pilot launch

    1 to 2 weeks

A handful of friendly customers use it first, and we fix what they find.

  5. Grow it

    Monthly

A support plan covers changes, and we add the next job the portal should do.

What makes a portal work

Portals fail when they try to do everything on day one.

Start with

  • One clear first job, such as tracking or invoices.
  • Sign-in that takes seconds, including on a phone.
  • Data that is current, not a copy from last night.

Then add

  • Payments and self-service changes.
  • Notifications when something needs the customer.
  • Analytics on what people use, to decide the next feature.
  • More roles: partners, suppliers, staff.

Working with us from anywhere in the UK

Portal projects run well remotely. We need access to test accounts on the systems involved and time with the person who answers customer calls today, because they know what customers ask for.

What is a customer portal?
A secure login where your customers see their own information, such as orders, documents, bookings and invoices, and do routine tasks themselves instead of contacting your team.
How much does a customer portal cost in the UK?
A first version starts from £1,999. A portal with several roles and integrations is usually a Product build from £4,999. The written proposal sets the exact price.
How long does it take to build?
A focused first version takes 4 to 5 weeks. Portals with several integrations take 10 to 12.
Is a portal secure enough for client documents?
We build access by role and by account, encrypt data at rest, keep audit trails and can add two-factor authentication and single sign-on. Hosting is in the UK or EU.
Will it work on phones?
Yes. Every portal we build works in a mobile browser. If customers need notifications or offline access, we can add a mobile app later on the same API.

Planning a customer portal?

Tell us who logs in and what they keep phoning about. We will define the first version and its cost on a free 30-minute call.
